World?

Mexico has over 1000 square kilometers of Coastline on the pacific coast of America , going all the way from Guatemala up to the northwestern Border near California. The majority of the Coast was for the most part small fishing villages until about 1925, because a newly-built road had brought many tourists.

Many Fancy hotels popped up in Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco, and both became world famous in the 60’s when Richard Burton and Liz Taylor made a picture show called Night of the Iguana and purchased a mansion by the water .

The Government of Mexico pushed (quite heavily), the publicity of building hotels, motels and luxury resorts around the mid-70’s. They dubbed the stretch of land between Puerto and Manzanillo ‘Costa de Oro’ which means ‘Gold Coast’ . The full stretch, which is known as the Mexican Riviera (To the Cruise Industry in the USA) is popular for it’s beautiful scenery of jungle flora, gold beaches and stunning cliff faces
